Ethnographic Collection
There are now nearly 10,000 ethnographic objects from around the world at ARCC resulting from donations, collecting missions, and ARCC purchases. Most of these objects date from the late 19th century to the early part of the 20th century.

Archaeological Collection
ARCC curates approximately one million archaeological objects, which are representative of peoples who once inhabited North America, South and Central America, Europe, and Africa. Prehistoric materials from the Northern and Central Plains of North America form the core of the ARCC?s archaeological collections.

Teaching Collection
The teaching collection is comprised of ethnographic and archaeological objects acquired through donations lacking complete documentation for the use in classroom instruction and exhibits.

Comparative Collection
The archaeological comparative collections consist of modern and/or prehistoric objects collected or designated for use in specimen identification. ARCC maintains three comparative collections: lithic, faunal, and botanical.
